When I found out my future husband was looking at images that would turn your face red, I was crushed. All I could think was "what's wrong with me". It led to a lot of doubt, and a very hard road for quite a long time. The pain still has not completely faded. I know from experience that it is wrong and it feels like I was cheated on. If we say that merely looking at a woman with the intentions of possessing her is already a sin at God's eyes is not realistic, then we are exactly wrong. Remember that the true meaning of sin is not able to reach the standards of God. On this topic I think that just looking, fantasizing or even looking at someone of the opposite sex while married is not adultery. If you listen to the Bible and truly believe in that statement then everyone who is married has committed adultery. It is just not realistic to take that statement as law, in my opinion. If you cheat on your spouse by having a romantic relationship with someone else, then yes, it is cheating. I am a non-practicing Catholic who has read parts of the Bible and have to say that its just not realistic to live according to the bible. First let me say I really enjoy your blog.
